Hello from France,
Survived the 900 mile journey down to Chamonix, managed to find a campsite ok only real problem has been the weather. Thunderstorms, heavy rain, cloud and general shit seems to be on the menu at the moment. Managed to get some walking in on the first day up to Mer de Glace was quite a nice walk up… we did get caught in a thunderstorm on the way down tho and got very wet! It seems my new waterproof coat is in fact waterproof though which was useful. Not so useful however was the half collapsed tent that we returned to, at the moment most of our possesions are slightly moist and slowly drying out. Was hoping to get some mountain biking in today but the weather was looking pretty grim again so we headed over into Geneva instead and had a wander around there… not much going on really, another country off the list of countries I’ve visited tho! Hopefully we will get to do some mountain biking in Chamonix, hopefully here at Zero G. Uploaded a few pictures onto Flickr, might get some more on later.

I’m sat here bored waiting for my transfer bus to pick me up to fly back home from Crete. Whilst waiting I was watching a film with Morgan Freeman in, I didn’t catch the name of it.. but what I did notice was just how long the adverts are on Greek television. If they were any longer you’d have forgotten the plot by the time your programme restarted! I had chance to have a quick walk, nip out to the shops to pickup a drink and when I got back they were still going.

Recently got a Nokia N95 8GB on upgrade, pretty good phone… still getting to grips with it. Anyway, with the in-built GPS and all I thought, hmm this would be quite good for Geocaching (for those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m on about check it out here). After a word with google I stumbled upon this…

Went into town today to have a quick look around Liverpool One, quite impressed, would like to go down at night and see it all lit up and get some photos.
Anyway, on the way we stumbled upon some new SuperLambBananas !! For those of you who’ve never heard of the SuperLambBanana see here. It’s funny because I was only talking about the SuperLambBanana in work on Friday and whilst looking on the internet found out that there were more coming…
It’s Go Go Go for Go Superlambananas!
One of the most eagerly awaited events of Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebrations is now live! 125, two metre tall replicas of Taro Cheizo’s iconic SuperLambBanana sculpture have been painted, decorated and adorned by local artists, schools and community groups, to create a free to view, open air, public art spectacular.
Managed to get a few snaps of some of the LambBananas in place and also some of them just arriving! Super stuff, can’t wait for the rest of them to arrive… hope to get a photo of every single one!
SuperLambBananas… you’ve gotta catch ‘em all
As you can see I have made a few changes to the blog… I have acutally typed out this post before but somehow managed to delete it because I’m a mong.
Anyway, the site was overdue many updates, not least the update to Wordpress 2.5 which has many new features, 2.5.1 to be exact which can be downloaded here.
Also added a couple of new plugins, Lightbox 2 which improves the look and handling of images on the site, very easy to setup. As for Flickr integration, historically I’ve been using FAlbum which has done well for years but doesn’t play with the newer versions of Wordpress and I thought I’d have a look to see if there was anything else around that might be a bit more slick. I stumbled upon the Flickr Photo Album by Joe Tan of tan tan noodles. It seems to work well and integrates well into the sidebar with a widget which is the main function I wanted also easy toobar addon to place flickr images in your posts. A little slow on the albums but will see how it goes.
Just need to work on getting my content from the old site back on now and trying to keep on top of it…

As the title says, kinda renewed my blog and it’s died a death!
Anyway, just installed this lightbox plugin jobby and wanted to test it out, so here it goes!
Not really done much on the old blog / website as of late. A lot of plugins and things broke on an update and been caught up doing work and other things so just not really had much chance to update it or take a look. So anyway I decided just to ditch it and start again from scratch with a new wordpress install and a new(ish) blog.
Hopefully should be a bit better than the original one anyway… watch this space!
